Meet the Andrades

Our Story

Gigi and David Andrade — littleneck connoisseurs, fishermen, and soulmates — set out with the intention to share their love of seafood with the Bristol community. In 1987, they opened the doors to their very own seafood shop. Andrade’s Catch was born. David spent mornings digging for clams and afternoons delivering his and his fishing peers’ catches to restaurants around Rhode Island. Gigi, meanwhile, would be running the show at the shop: passing her knowledge on to customers, meeting new faces, and slinging the best fish and chips this town’s ever tasted.

Eventually the Andrade family would grow to include three little ones, who can be seen in many old photographs sitting in lobster crates, on the clam counting machine, and in the cabin of David’s skiff as tots. Davy, the youngest of three, has memories of standing on a crate next to Gigi while she chopped cabbage for their homemade coleslaw. Davy officially joined the team when he was in high school and started quahogging short after. He’s devoted his time to learning everything there is to know about the business and is credited with growing the wholesale operation to what it is today.

The family grew once more when Davy married Victoria. She joined the crew in the Spring of 2020 bringing her culinary background, retail experience, and customer service knowledge with her. She’s since grown the retail market to include a pantry sections stocked with the best ingredients, tools and wares, and fishy novelties. Her passion for the seafood business shows through her expansive knowledge gained in such a short amount of time.

Much has changed since those early days, but a few things remain as solid as ever. David is still delivering product to many of the same restaurants. The shop is still open, seven days a week, on Wood Street. We’re still obsessed with clams. And while Gigi isn't with us anymore, the family is here to carry on her legacy and continue serving the community she loved.

Our Values

Our family was raised on the water. We were taught to respect Mother Nature and the bounty she provides for us. Our family doesn't just sell seafood: We catch it, deliver it, eat it and most importantly, we form relationships around it.

Our Mission

We aim to protect our local waters for the future generations of fishermen and seafood-lovers alike, by practicing safe fishing methods, educating the community about the seafood industry, and engaging with our peers to come up with solutions to short- and long-term goals of the industry.

Rhode Island quahogs are plentiful and one of the most sustainably fished products. They’re dug up daily by local fisherman on small day boats. We work alongside our fellow fishermen to bring you fresh, dug-that-day quahogs, seven days a week.
